We’re looking forward to his next exhibition and continue to be inspired by his wonderful artworks.

Indulge your eyes in Istanbul's house name typography.

There is an eye-catching attribute to residential buildings when you walk around Istanbul. Every house has its own given name beautifully written in a rich typeface. If you stop for a second and take a close look you’ll discover an abundance of unique typography, colours, serifs, all beautifully crafted onto the front door of the main entrances. The signs once stood for prestige of the family or clan that built and lived in the house. In current times these original examples of typeface design remain a strong symbol for Istanbul of the 1920-50′s, which every graphic designer or visually minded person should indulge their eyes in. (click the image above for full-res)

We shot The Roads of Turkey mainly between Istanbul, Izmir, on the Cesme peninsula and near Efesos on the go and impromptu. All shots taken on a Canon Powershot G12 during summer 2011 without really having an idea about what to usem them for. So, excuse the wobbling camera but join us for a ride through the beautiful landscapes of Turkey. We’ve chosen the track ‘Roadgame’ written and composed by the phenomenal Kavinsky, also known for his famous track Nightcall, playing during the opening scene of the film ‘Drive’. Support Kavinsky and buy the Nightcall EP at kavinsky.bandcamp.com/ (and go watch Drive if you haven’t yet!)

This video by Everynone made the rounds last year. We think it’s worth sharing it here as it expresses the symmetry/duality of what we do between Istanbul and London.

The Impudent Muse, this Saturday in London.

Seductive cabaret creatures Die Freche Muse present a new themed night dedicated to 1920s Berlin, The Impudent Muse. Yes, it’s ‘cockier’ than ever, with a much bigger setting (opulent club Adam Street fits in around 400 people) and a daring cabaret bill, including dark, brooding vignettes from Theatre Lab Company, burlesque from performers Marianne Cheesecake and her homage to Josephine Baker and Billie Rae and live music from Dixie Ticklers, fuelling the Weimar-era antics. Don’t miss this one out if you happen to be in London.

More info and tickets here.
